I’m gonna disagree with this somewhat….there is a big difference between eating for HEALTH and eating to change your body physically. Lots of foods are considered “healthy”….granola, yogurt, healthy bread/muffins, protein bars, etc. Walk down the isle’s of the grocery store and you see tons of stuff with “healthy” labels on it.
That’s fantastic if HEALTH ONLY is your goal….but I know plenty of “healthy” people that are also overweight. Is that healthy? How do we define “health”? I think its up to the individual myself.
If it were up to me, I would eat nothing but fruits, vegetables and nuts….man, I felt AMAZING when I did a raw vegan diet for 1.5 years, probably the healthiest I have ever felt! BUT!!! I was also overweight, malnourished, lacking vitamins/minerals and had a body fat of around 32%. That’s certainly NOT healthy, at least in my opinion.
Some may disagree with this, that’s cool…to each their own. My point with this is just because something is labelled as “healthy” doesn’t mean it’s always good for you or contributing towards your goals, whatever those may be.
I know the point of the post is avoiding fad diets, to which I whole heartedly agree with….but just because you eat “clean” or what you consider “healthy” doesn’t always mean you’re eating what our bodies NEED!!!
