I learned so much from Jamie… Working WITH your body and outsmarting our body with a gentler approach is more healthy and in the long run will prove to have better results.

I started  training for a figure competition in September 2012. I had never lifted a weight before and all I knew how to do was run outside! So don’t ask how I ever decided this was something I wanted to do! I guess I wanted the personal challenge!  What started as something I just wanted to prove to myself I could do, turned into so much more. My life will never be the same. I learned more about myself than I ever thought I would.

I started with Jamie in the winter of 2012 and have been with her through the course of my 14 month training.  Currently I am phasing out of figure dieting and learning to stand on my own and maintain in what I call “normal life!” You know a business person is genuine when they say, “I’m going to let you fly on your own now; I trust you have the skills and abilities to manage!” She is not out to make monitory gains — Jamie actually is passionate about giving people the tools to make significant positive changes for their health and well being.

When I started with Jamie, I was eating lots of clean food but was unsure if I was doing things right and my body wasn’t responding to the cookie cutter diet that I was following. I contacted Jamie through a referral and she got me set up on a fitness plan after a thorough background interview. She kept a close eye on my progress and we reassessed when needed. It was apparent that I was over training before I started with Jamie and throughout the course of working with Jamie she was always able to catch when I was in need of refueling my body with a re-feed meal. I learned so much with Jamie, including that working WITH your body and outsmarting our body with a gentler approach is more healthy and in the long run will prove to have better results. I came so far mentally working with Jamie as well. Her approach in how she dealt with me and things that came up are why I speak so highly of her. I learned that slow and steady will win the race. Who wouldn’t want to feel amazing rather than suffer? Who wouldn’t want to manage cravings and feel balanced?  Whether it’s for a bulking bodybuilder, a mom trying to get back into shape, someone feeling sick and tired of feeling sick and tired, or a post competition competitor trying to find a balanced ‘new normal’. Nutrition is so complex and it takes an educated professional! My experience with Jamie was so much more than just being given some plan to follow. Jamie explained everything to me in a way that I could understand and I appreciate her more than this testimonial can portray! She is honest and real. I cannot recommend the service of 212 Fitness enough! I think that it’s through the down to earth personality of an extremely knowledgeable person that makes Jamie (212 Fitness) so unique!

At an athletes’ meeting of my first competition, I was in the bathroom taking pictures (or attempting to) to send to Jamie and a woman asked who I was working with. I told her Jamie with 212 Fitness and she immediately knew who I was referring to and said, “that girl knows her $h*+!” Which sums up exactly what everyone needs to hear! On a side note, from a competitor’s perspective, I can add that Jamie was on call for me around the clock for days before the competition to calm my erratic mind and reassure me that I was right on track. She was on me like nobody’s business when my cloudy, distracted mind would forget what needed to get done or if she hadn’t heard from me.  I trusted her and the process to get me to where I needed to be. And guess what? I got there!! All of the help from Jamie with my diet and posing were a huge reason why I placed as well as I did! Jamie’s vast background and experience make her a professional that I will forever cherish and continue to recommend to everyone I know!

There are so many things on Pinterest, Facebook, on TV, magazines that talk about fitness and what I can say is, I VALUE an individualized plan that is unique to me and my body (because we are not meant to all follow the same plan) that will be evaluated and adjusted as needed. I VALUE paying someone to be accountable to, who will aid me in my goals and help me to get to the point where I can manage on my own – although I probably will always come back for little a$$ kickings once in a while!
